This version of Get Out - Stay Out has been taken from the main Get Out - Stay Out programme and edited as a 'stand-alone' module. This version has been edited specifically for those premises which have a two stage fire alarm system.

If you are unclear about the different types of alarm systems then hopefully this will help:
A 'Two Stage' Fire Alarm is generally installed in large buildings. This type of alarm will sound constantly in the 'Fire Zone' as well as immediately above and below the area - again this is the signal to evacuate NOW! Other areas will hear an intermittent alarm, which means personnel in that areas should 'standby to evacuate' if the alarm signal changes to continuous.

As with the 'full version' of Get Out - Stay Out this module explains the how personnel should react to the different fire alarm signals, to ensure a safe and efficient evacuation as well as the procedures to be followed in a fire or similar emergency. The subjects covered include:

Fire Risk Assessments/Fire Legislation - Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Raising the Alarm.
Calling the Fire Service.
Evacuating the Premises
Fire Wardens/Marshals Duties

Get Out – Stay Out is suitable for training staff in most types of workplace where a two stage fire alarm is installed and is ideal for both induction training and regular fire safety training.

Who needs fire training...

Fire Training for all staff is a legal requirement, so if you are an employer, business owner or are in control of a premises then you are required by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, which states that 'you must ensure that your employees are provided with adequate fire safety training', this training must include full time staff, as well any casual and part time staff!

Making sure that all staff understand how they can help prevent a fire, react correctly 'in the event of a fire' or use a portable fire extinguisher simply makes good business sense. After all if you suffer a fire at your workplace you'll be putting people's lives at risk, your workplace may be damaged or you may lose business. There is also a very good chance that any breaches in fire safety could cost thousands in fines - you could even end up in prison. Effective fire safety policies and training really do make good business sense.

FTV has been producing fire safety training videos since 1988 and our programmes are used around the world to help employers ensure that their staff are trained in all aspects of fire safety. Our programmes are produced in-house and we are fire safety professionals with over 30 years experience. So, we can help you ensure that your workplace is safe from fire.
