 | PyrotechnixEducating children in fire safety is an important area of activity for fire services around the world. Getting an effective fire safety message across while children are still young is essential. There is no doubt that children identify with characters that they see on TV or films and characters such as Batman, Spiderman and Superman carry important messages about the difference between good and bad. So we have teamed up with top illustrator/artist Huw J Davies and have produced a new concept in fire safety education, called the Pyrotechnix.
At this stage we are in the process of producing education material which will take the form of short fire safety comics, fire safety posters, stickers, colouring sheets and fire safety leaflets.The long term plans for Pyrotechnix are to produce a whole range of products which we propose to include;

On-line Graphic Novels
Action Figures
Trading Cards
Comics
T-shirts
However, the ultimate objective for this project is to produce a cartoon TV series which will not only entertain young people, but will also contain strong fire safety messages. Storylines we are developing include; arson prevention, hoax calls, the importance of a home fire safety plan, the dangers of smoke and the importance of domestic smoke detectors/alarms. |  | |
The aim of Pyrotechnix is to educate young people about the dangers of fire and to give them guidance on good fire safety practices.
The story revolves around a group of fire-fighters, in a large city in the future. As with todays firefighters they are faced with a variety of emergency situations which are presented by their adversaries who are known as 'The Triangle', who use fire related disasters to cause havoc, pain and general mayhem.
The stories highlight the importance of fire safety and promote the concept of 'real heroes', showing that despite the hardware and adventure the reality is that it is ordinary men and women who risk their lives each and every day.
The Pyrotechnix comprises of 3 members, Prometheus, Aquarius and Vulcan. Each member of the crew has their own story to tell and brings unique talents which together makes them a formidable force.
Prometheus, whose real name is Gage O'Connor, is the leader of the crew. He's a no nonsense character who is an expert in tactical planning - he will find a way when others only see dead ends!
Gwen Morgan aka Aquarius is one tough lady. As a child she lost her family to a fire and has dedicated her life to fighting fire.
The third member of the Pyrotechnix is Vulcan his real name is Desoto Jones. He's the crews forensic expert. He's a quiet enigmatic character and his knowledge of fire is second to none.
| | | | | | The 'bad guys' in the Pyrotechnix are represented as a terroist organisation who call themselves The Triangle. Wherever there is a fire they are involved. Yet no matter how hard they try they cannot overcome or defeat the Pyrotechnix. While the storylines will be strong and dramatic at no point will fire be glamorised and we will show quite clearly its not 'clever' to play with or to start fires and it's not 'big' to make hoax calls. | | | 
As baddies go The Triangle could not be more evil and nasty. If there is a fire you can guarantee that one of these twisted individuals is involved and they keep the Pryotechnix busy.
Their leader is a character who calls himself Flashover he feeds on the pain and anguish that people suffer in a fire. He is dedicated to the downfall of society and is connsumate evil.
Firebug is the toady lackey who lives only to serve his master Flashover. This nafarious character has the ability to produce a chemical which emulates petrol, so when he appears you know you have trouble on your hands.
If hate could have a body then Toxic would be it. The result of a terrible chemical accident Toxic is set in its view that society abandonded it. So now it's only thoughts are for revenge and retribution. Having found sanctuary with other members of The Triangle this character is a force to be reckoned with!
Ingnite is a long hidden genie who loves to watch things burn. The last time it was free Ignite caused the Great Fire of London and was confined to a watery grave. Firebug found the ancient prison and freed ignite so that he too could serve the purposes of The Triangle.
As time progresses we will be adding new characters to The Triangle which will mean that we can develop stories and highlight additional dangers that fire can present. | |
